The winter of 2001 was the worst winter on record for the residents of Newfoundland with snowfall that exceeded 700 cm – that is just over 19 feet of snow.
It was Woody Acres Camp that saw the worst of it too. The camp suffered severe damage to its buildings. The cradle roll and primary buildings were completely destroyed, while the cafeteria and auditorium were seriously damaged.
Arrangements were made with Maranatha Volunteers to come to Newfoundland to build a new cafeteria, as well as refurbish other buildings. Praise God Maranatha arrived just in time to help build the new buildings for the 2001 Camp Meeting.
